Mouth of the Steinkjerelva

The Steinkjerelva is a short but rich in water flow in the Norwegian municipality Steinkjer in Nord-Trøndelag.

It is formed by the confluence of Byaelva and Ogna and flows for a distance of two miles to Beitstadfjord, an inner fjord arm of the Trondheim Fjord, and in the Atlantic Ocean.

The average discharge at its mouth is 65 m³ / s The catchment area covers 2143 km ² and includes the Snåsavatnet the sixth largest lake in Norway. With headwaters of his river length is 112 km. His river lies entirely within the city of Steinkjer. He divides the city into two parts, Sørsida ( Sørsia ) and Nordsida ( Norsia ).
