Stelo

The Stelo (German "Stern", plural: Steloj ) was from 1945 to 1993, a monetary unit of Esperanto speakers, which thus had the creation of a single world currency to the destination. Attempts to establish a former monetary unit, the Speso, with derived units such as the Spesmilo were thwarted by the First World War. For a time, the Universal League, the arm of the Esperanto movement, banknotes and coins in Steloj spent and made attempts to reject the Stelo on the basis of the relative purchasing power of different nations to existing currencies.
