Sten Pentus

Sten Pentus ( born November 3, 1981 in Tallinn) is an Estonian racing driver. He took from 2008 to 2011 in the Formula Renault 3.5 part. In 2012 he started in the Auto GP World Series.

Career

After Pentus was active in karting and, inter alia, Had become in 1996 the Estonian junior runner-up, he moved in 2000 to Formula racing and became an instant champion in Formula Baltic and the Baltic formula 4 Pentus 2001 remained in the Baltic formula 4 and won this championship one more time. In the following two seasons, he has started again in Formula Baltic and won the 2002 runner-up title in this series. In addition, he left in 2002 in both the Finnish as well as in the Baltic Touring Car Championship at the start. Mid-2004 Pentus in the German Formula BMW, finishing in 18th place in the drivers' standings. After he was gone again in Formula Baltic in 2005 at the start, he took in 2006 to some races of the Formula Renault 2.0 Euro Cups and part of the North European Formula Renault.

Started in 2007 Pentus in the BARC Formula Renault and came eleventh in the standings. He then joined in the winter of 2007 to the winter championship of the BARC Formula Renault and he won his first race outside of his Baltic homeland. 2008 Pentus went to the British Formula Renault at the start. There he failed to build on the successes of the previous year and he finished only 18th in the overall standings. He also made ​​his debut in Formula Renault 3.5. 2009 Pentus received a cockpit for the entire season of Formula Renault 3.5 at Mofaz Racing. His team-mate Albert Costa totaled 151 points in fourth place.

2012 were Pentus for the second race weekend for Virtuosi UK Racing in the Auto GP World Series a. After he had paused a race weekend, he received a cockpit at Zele Racing for two events. With a fourth place as best result he was 15th in the driver standings.

Sten Pentus is the younger brother of the Estonian politician Keit Pentus (* 1976).
