Stephen A. Rotter

Stephen A. Rotter is an American editor.

Life

Rotter began his career as an editor in the film industry in Hollywood in 1969 with the film Alice 's Restaurant and previously served on the production of some forty films and television series with.

In 1976, he was a British Academy Film Award for Best Editing, along with Jack Fitzstephens, Richard P. Cirincione, Sanford Rackow, James Sabat and Dick Vorisek for Dog Day Afternoon (1975 ) by Sidney Lumet with Al Pacino, John Cazale and Charles Durning in the lead roles.

He had a hit with that produced by the NBC four -part television series Holocaust - The History of White (1978 ) Family of Marvin J. Chomsky with Fritz Weaver, Rosemary Harris and James Woods. For this he won along with Robert M. Reitano, Craig McKay, Alan home and Brian Smedley - Aston Emmy for outstanding film cut in a Drama Series, and in 1979 with Craig McKay Eddie from the American Cinema Editors (ACE ) for the bestgeschnittene episode in this mini-series for the third episode, The Final Solution (Final Solution). At the Academy Awards in 1984 he won together with Glenn Farr, Lisa Fruchtman, Douglas Stewart and Tom Rolf an Oscar for best editing in the film The stuff of which heroes are (1983 ) by Philip Kaufman with Sam Shepard, Scott Glenn and Ed Harris. He was also awarded with Glenn Farr, Lisa Fruchtman and Tom Rolf another nomination for the Eddie for Best Editing in a movie.
