Stephen Bronner

Stephen Eric Bronner ( born August 19, 1949 in New York) is a political philosopher and professor of political science, literature, science and German studies at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States.

He has written more than twenty books in the field of political theory.

Life

Bronner received his Bachelor's degree ( BA) at City College, New York, and then spent a scholarship a year at the University of Tübingen. His Master of Arts (MA) and subsequent doctoral ( Ph.D.) in political science gained Bronner at the University of California, Berkeley.

Since 1976 Bronner teaches at Rutgers University. As a visiting professor he also worked at the New School for Social Research, and in 1998 at the University of Leipzig.

Bronner provided many articles in professional journals such New Politics, Political Theory, Social Research, and Telos. He also wrote several books on contemporary political theory, culture and history. For his book Moments of Decision: Political History and the Crises of Radicalism he was in 1991 with the Michael A. Harrington Prize.

He is also an editor of Logos: A Journal of Modern Society and Culture and belongs to the editorial boards of the journals New Political Theory, X - Alta ( France) and Eszmélet (Hungary ) on.

Theoretical Contributions

The focus of his work at Stephen Bronner is the combination of traditional political theories and theorists within their social, political, cultural and historical contexts, with the aim to reflect these common critical. From the tradition it represents an attempt to identify their salient features and because both derive the requirements and their expression in the next millennium.
