Stephen Dhieu Dau

Stephen Dhieu Dau is a South Sudanese politician. He is the first oil and mining minister of his country since the secession of South Sudan from Sudan (as of January 2012).

Dau led the negotiations with the Sudan for distribution of the funds, which are achieved by the oil production. The negotiations were conducted under the mediation of the African Union ( AU). While 75 percent of the oil wells are in South Sudan, this is dependent on the pipelines in Sudan to sell the oil can. End of January 2012 imposed a complete Dhieu Dau oil disruptions, since the two countries could not agree on the transit fees.
