Stephen Dodd

Stephen Dodd ( born July 15, 1966 in Barry, Wales) is a Welsh professional golfer on the European Tour.

Career

Dodd won 1989 The Amateur Championship at Royal Birkdale and was therefore invited the following year for the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club, where he was allowed to play in a flight with Sandy Lyle and Curtis Strange. He then pursued a career of professional golfer.

After many years on the Challenge Tour, a tournament series of the second power level, Dodd was permanently established on the European Tour until 2001. In the 2005 season it then the big breakthrough came with two tournament wins and winning the World Cup with partner Bradley Dredge for their homeland Wales. That same year, Dodd was also in the winning team Great Britain & Ireland in the Seve Trophy. In July 2006 he won his third tournament victory, the Smurfit Kappa European Open and the biggest check of his career in the amount of € 578.792.
