Stephen Gilligan

Stephen G. Gilligan (born 1954 ) is an American hypnotherapist Milton H. Erickson, author and worldwide since the 1980s, traveling teacher. He is married, lives in Encinitas California and studied Aikido.

Life and work

Gilligan completed a PhD at Stanford University and was one of the first to Neuro- Linguistic Programming studied - the founders Richard Bandler and John Grinder. He has specialized early on Ericksonian hypnotherapy and developed this to its Self -relations Psychotherapy, where he tries to integrate Aikido, Buddhism, meditation and theatrical elements.

Gilligan propagated a loving, conflict-free coexistence and non- violent communication. He tries to motivate his clients and clients that transform many facets of violence and negative thinking into positive life energy. His book on Therapeutic trance is today hailed a classic.
