Stephen Gleeson

Stephen Gleeson ( born August 3, 1988 in Dublin) is an Irish football player. The central midfielder was one of the most promising talents in the Academy of Wolverhampton Wanderers and already came at the age of 18 years in the Irish national team to its first international match. After several phases loan he gave to the 2009/10 season on the hope of a breakthrough in the " Wolves " and instead signed at third division Milton Keynes Dons a new contract.

Sports career

Born in the Irish capital Stephen Gleeson learned to play football at a small club called " Cherry Orchard " before he decided to convert at the age of 15 years to try it after a successful trial in the youth department of the English Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was discovered by the scout Willie Vaughan, who was responsible for the Talentesichtung in Irish territory on behalf of the " Wolves ". At the age of only 17 years, Gleeson was also nominated in the Irish U-19 selection for the tournament in La Manga in February 2006, as part of the qualifying matches for the U-19 European Championship.
