Stephen H. Burum

Henry Stephen Burum ( born November 25, 1939 in Dinuba, California) is an American cinematographer.

Life

After the native Californian Step Away Henry Burum graduated in the 1960s at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and for some time taught there as a lecturer, he spent some time working for the Walt Disney anthology television series, before he completed his military service in the United States Army. He spent his service time in the Army Pictorial Center, where he made training films for the Army. He then returned to California, where he worked as a cameraman for commercials, television shows and low-budget films. He had for the second unit of Francis Ford Coppola Apocalypse Now and Carroll Ballard's The Black Stallion worked His first larger orders.

Burum was nominated three times for the ASC Award and could win this for his camera work on the film biography of Jimmy Hoffa. For Jimmy Hoffa, he was nominated in 1993 for an Oscar for Best Cinematography. For his life's work he received the 2008 ASC Lifetime Achievement Award.
