Stephen Seymour

Stephen A. Seymour (* December 15, 1919 in New York; † June 20, 1973 in Ventura, California ) was an American production designer in film.

Life

Stephen Seymour worked from 1941 to 1945 as Production Designer in Hollywood, where he was employed by Paramount Pictures. At the Academy Awards in 1942, he was nominated along with Raoul Pene Du Bois Best in Category Design ( color film ) for the Louisiana Purchase, but was defeated Cedric Gibbons, Urie McCleary and Edwin B. Willis, the Oscar for Blossoms in the Dust ( Blossoms in the Dust ) could ultimately win. Other films whose scenes Seymour co, the war movie Courageous Women ( So Proudly We Hail! , 1943), the horror film The eerie Guest ( The Uninvited, 1944) and Leo McCareys blockbuster The Road to Happiness ( Going My Way, 1944) were with Bing Crosby in the lead role. Already 1945 Seymour retired from the film business. He died in 1973 at the age of 53 in Ventura, California.
