Stephen Tobolowsky

Stephen Harold Tobolowsky (* May 30, 1951 in Dallas, Texas) is an American actor and writer, known for his supporting role of Ned Ryerson in the movie Groundhog Day groundhog. He also played the role of Commissioner Hugo Jarry in the television series Deadwood and for eleven episodes in Heroes as Bob Bishop for nine episodes. Currently Tobolowsky is seen in the supporting role of Stu Beggs on the television series Californication. Overall, he has appeared in over 200 films and is thus for a list of USA Today on the ninth of the most watched in movies actor.

In addition to the spectacle of Stephen Tobolowsky has been working since October 2009 on his podcast The Tobolowsky Files, in which he tells stories from his life, love, and the entertainment industry. This resulted in the E-Book Cautionary Tales and the story collection The Dangerous Animals Club.

Life and achievements

Tobolowsky graduated from the University of Illinois. He made his debut as an actor in plays in New York City. In the horror film Keep My Grave Open from 1976, he played a bigger role. In the comedy Be strong, Cassie! (1986 ), he was seen on the side of Rosanna Arquette, Eric Roberts and Mare Winningham. In the film drama Grifters (1990 ) he played a jeweler who unmasked the jewels of the con artist Myra Langtry ( Annette Bening ) offered as fakes, then she offers him her own body.

In the film Two Idiots in Hollywood ( 1988) Tobolowsky played a supporting role, he also directed, wrote on the basis of his own stage play the screenplay and composed the music. He also directed the short film A Host of Trouble ( 2005) with Julie Hagerty. In 2002 he was nominated for his role in the play Morning's at Seven for a Tony Award.

Tobolowsky played in the second and third season, Robert Bishop in the mystery series Heroes. In the first season of the musical series Glee, he starred in the role of former Glee club director Sandy Ryerson. In addition, since the fourth season of the television series Californication, he plays the role of film producer Stu Baggs.

Tobolowsky is married to the actress Ann Hearn since 1988 and has two children.
