Stephen V Báthory

Stephen Báthory of Ecsed (Hungarian: István Báthori ) (* 1430, † 1493 ) was Voivode of Transylvania and also lord of the manor in the country and a member of the Dragon.

1479 Báthory was victorious in the Battle of the bread box against the Turks. From the captured money he began in his hometown Nyírbátor expand the Franciscan church and to build the specially conceived for the family crypt of St. George's Church from 1484. The latter was completed in 1511.
