Stephen Victor Graham

Stephen Victor Graham ( born March 4, 1874 Cass County, Michigan, † September 2, 1955 ) was an American naval officer. Between 1927 and 1929 he was military governor of American Samoa.

Career

In 1896, Stephen Graham graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis (Maryland). He then served as an officer on various ships of the U.S. Navy, including the USS Cincinnati and USS Rainbow. At the end of his military career in 1931 he reached the rank of rear admiral. Between September 9, 1927, the August 2, 1929 Graham was the successor of Henry Francis Bryan Governor of American Samoa. During this time he founded the Bank of American Samoa and complemented the existing tax law there.

In 1931 he was promoted to Rear Admiral. At the same time he retired from the Navy. About his future, nothing is handed down. He died on 2 September 1955, and was buried in San Diego ( California).
