Stephen Warbeck

Stephen Warbeck ( born 1953 in Southampton, United Kingdom ) is a British composer and arranger.

Biography

The age of four, he received lessons in piano and composition, but wanted to be an actor. He therefore studied drama and French at the University of Bristol. Here he also began writing music for university productions. This was followed from 1985 compositions for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court, for the gate and for the National Theatre.

In 1990 his work for television and in 1993 it followed his first film score for Femme Fatale. He was also director of two bands: Kippers and Metropolitan Water Board.

Stephen Warbeck won the Oscar and the film BMI Music Award for Shakespeare in Love.
