Stephenie McMillan

Stephenie McMillan ( born July 20, 1942 in Essex, † August 20, 2013 in Norfolk, sometimes also written Stephanie McMillan ) was a British production designer.

Life

McMillan was born in Essex and worked for her college degree first as administrative assistant at an architecture firm in London. After the birth of two daughters, she began to work for a photographer friend as props. Following up she did this work for television commercials. McMillan's work fell to a film producer, and she became the production designer for the film. Her first film work was Paul McCartney's film Broad Street from the year 1984.

McMillan died in August 2013 at the age of 71 years from the effects of cancer.

Nominations and awards

1997 McMillan was awarded jointly with Stuart Craig with the Academy Award for Best Production Design for her work on The English Patient. At the Academy Awards in 2002 Craig and Stuart were nominated for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, 2006 followed the next nomination for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The third nomination for a Harry Potter film received McMillan, together again with Stuart Craig, 2011 for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 for the last part of the Harry Potter film series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, McMillan 2012 was again nominated for Best Production Design.
