Sterling Trucks

Sterling was an American truck brand and is owned by the truck manufacturer Daimler AG.

History

The company Sterling Motor Truck was founded in 1916 in Milkwaukee (USA). In 1932, Sterling Cummins diesel engines built into his truck and took over the truck producer LaFrance -Republic in Alma / Michigan (USA). Sterling was acquired in 1951 by White Truck; to 1953 trucks were sold under the name Sterling -White. In 1951, the White truck service and sales of Freightliner. From 1963 to 1977, the double name White - Freightliner was used. In 1981, Mercedes -Benz took over the Freightliner Corporation.
