Stern John (2004)

Stern John ( born October 30, 1976 in Trincity, Trinidad ) is a former football player from Trinidad and Tobago. The striker is top scorer for the national team of his country. He is currently without a club, but is on the national team of Trinidad and Tobago. John is both and also very strong in the air.

He is the cousin of his team-mate John Avery and Ansil Elcock.

Association

John began his career as a football player in American college area, where the American A-League club Carolina Dynamo became aware of him, this took him under contract, in the same year he moved to the New Orleans Riverboat Gamblers same League. For the 1998 season, he joined the Major League Soccer for the Columbus Crew and became an instant with 26 goals scorer of the MLS, as well as the first player to the MLS, the reach three hat-tricks in a season; In 1999 he was able to achieve even 18 goals. John moved to England to Nottingham Forest; where in 2001 he was the top scorer of the club. He played in Nottingham before two and half years during the winter break 2002/ 03 he moved to Birmingham City; he was able to secure with seven gates promotion to the Premier League for City. In January 2007 he moved to FC Sunderland from where he was transferred in exchange for Kenwyne Jones in August 2007 for Southampton FC in the English League 2. End of July 2009 he signed for Crystal Palace and was presented during the 2009/10 season for two months to Ipswich Town.

National

Already in his very first game in 1995 for the national team of Trinidad and Tobago v Finland, he was 19 -year-old score a goal as a total he scored 109 national inserts 69 goals. With 69 goals he is not only scorer of his home range, he is among the top 10 scorers in A- internationals of all time and the top 3 of active internationals (as of 10 May 2006).

In April 2006 he was appointed to the selection of his country for the soccer World Cup 2006 in Germany.

In September and October 2011, he came after more than two year break to international duty and was used in the World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda and Barbados.
