Sterup
Sterup is a municipality in the landscape fishing in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. The district green wood (Danish: Grønholt ) situated in the municipality.

Geography and transport
Sterup is located about 21 kilometers southeast of Flensburg near the federal highway 199 to Kappeln.
History
The late Romanesque St. Lawrence's Church was built in 1230.
1983, a partnership between the community Sterup and the Royal Navy was closed. Under this partnership, the community is visited during Kiel Week by representatives of the British navy.
Incorporations
On 24 March 1974, the former municipality of green wood was incorporated.
Policy
Of the 13 seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections in 2013 five seats, the voter community WGS and the SPD have four seats.
