Geography

Geographical location

Stetten is located on the northern shore of Lake Constance, about two kilometers northeast of Meersburg. It borders between Meersburg and Haltnau Hagnau over a length of 1100 meters directly on the shores of Lake Constance. This stretch of beach is freely accessible, natural with the typical rounded pebbles and the steep drop from shallow - to deep-water ( "rock" ). A narrow strip of bushes separating the beach from the riverside path and the vineyards.

History

The village was first mentioned in a deed from the year 752 in favor of the monastery of St. Gallen under the name Altstadi.

Regular events

  • The fools Community Hasle- Maale maintains the Swabian- Alemannic Carnival with Carnival characters Hasle- Maale, forest spirit and builders.

France: Stetten's partner community is Mareau -aux -Prés, located about eight kilometers southwest of Orléans on the Loire.

Economy

Stetten is still dominated by orchards and vineyards. In summer, tourism plays a role. Furthermore, freelancers and service providers as a stand- Stetten and chosen place of residence. Traffic

Stetten is located on the main road 31 between Meersburg and Hagnau. The Federal Highway 33 intersects the site into two halves.
