Steve Bailey

Steve Bailey ( born February 10, 1960 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina) is an American electric bass player.

Steve Bailey is known for his virtuosic mastery of the six-string fretless electric bass, especially with use of flageolet tones. Musically, he is located in fusion and jazz rock. Within the bassist community, he gained popularity through his teaching at BIT and instructional videos with Victor Wooten. Steve Bailey is a sought-after studio musician. He played among other albums by Kitaro, Kilauea, David Benoit, Jethro Tull and Steve Reid was a member of the Rippingtons and was one of the bands tour of the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Willie Nelson or Larry Carlton.

For years, he appears as an advertising medium for the guitar manufacturer Aria and plays a sechssaitiges, fretless, designed according to his ideas model of this company. He also is one of the endorsers of the company Warwick and plays including the Warwick Steve Bailey Signature Bass.
