Steve Berlin

Steve Berlin ( born September 14, 1955 in Philadelphia ) is an American songwriter, saxophonist and producer.

Berlin's musical career began in the early 1980s, when he joined the Blasters. He stayed only for a short time with the band, then joined also only briefly the Flesh Eaters and had a guest appearance in 1982 on an album of the Go-Go's.

Together with T -Bone Burnett -produced Berlin 1983 EP ... And a Time to Dance 'by Los Lobos, where he became a permanent member in the following year. In addition to his work with Los Lobos, he was also active as a producer and studio musician for various other artists, including Paul Simon, John Lee Hooker, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Rickie Lee Jones, Faith No More, Leo Kottke, The Replacements, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Crash Test Dummies, Mark Lanegan, Manhattan Transfer, Dave Alvin, Joan Osborne, The Tragically Hip, The Walkabouts, Michelle Shocked, The Smithereens, String Cheese Incident, The Tail Gators and Roomful of Blues.
