Steve Coast

Steve Coast (born 20 December 1980) is the British founder of OpenStreetMap and CloudMade.

Life

Coast grew up in Walderslade and London. Here he worked as an intern at Wolfram Research, before he started his computer science degree at University College London. Along with Nick Black 2006 he founded the technology consulting firm ZXV Ltd.. In 2008 he moved to San Francisco. After an investment of Nikolaj Nyholm and Sunstone Capital in 2008 from ZKV CloudMade. In 2009 he moved with his wife Hurricane Coast to Denver ( Colorado). In October 2010, Coast announced at CloudMade, but is still shareholders. In November 2010, Steve Coast announced plans to work in the future at Microsoft as a Principal Architect.

According cooler selection of Bing Microsoft Steve Coast has finally ceased in November 2010. As a " return " of the OpenStreetMap community the aerial photographs of Bing were (but not explicitly the map data ) provided for mapping available.

On September 3, 2013 Steven Coast announced on his blog, now working for the company Telenav navigation. He supported the development of there based on OSM maps Scout Navigator.
