Steve Denton

Steve Denton ( born September 5, 1956 in Kingsville, Texas ) is a former American professional tennis player. He stood in the individual finals in six of which he lost all six. In double Denton reached 43 finals, of which he won 19 playoffs. The most wins in a double pass him with Kevin Curren.

In the years 1981 and 1982 Denton reached the final of the Australian Open. In both years, the South African Johan Kriek was his opponent, against whom he lost both games. In 1983 he succeeded with his compatriot Sherwood Stewart of entry into the finals of the doubles competition against Australian Mark Edmondson and Paul McNamee, but they lost them with 3:6 and 6:7.
