Steve Goodman

Steve Goodman ( born July 25, 1948 in Chicago, † September 20, 1984 in Seattle ) was an American singer and composer of folk music.

His biggest success was the song City of New Orleans. While not sung in his interpretation of 1971, but the singer Arlo Guthrie, the song reached number 18 on the U.S. charts in 1972. Subsequently, it has been a popular cover song of many well-known musicians and performers. The most famous German interpretation is When it is once again really summer?. During his lifetime, published 10 music albums, posthumously followed two productions and 3 live recordings of concerts.

Steve Goodman fell ill at age 20 from leukemia, which he died at the age of 36 in 1984.
