Broderick Steven ( "Steve" ) Harvey ( born January 17, 1957 in Welch, West Virginia) is an American presenter and entertainer who is best known for the show Family Feud.
Life and career
Harvey was born as the youngest of five children of Jesse Harvey, a coal miner and his wife Eloise in West Virginia. His family soon moved to Cleveland ( Ohio), where he attended Glenville High School until 1974. He then went back to graduate at West Virginia University for college. Harvey moonlighted as an insurance salesman, mailman and boxers. In 1985, he was then for the first time in a stand -up comedy on stage. His breakthrough came when he made it in 1989 in the finals of the second annual " Johnnie Walker National Comedy " excretion.
Then he got some roles in television productions, such as a host of Showtime at the Apollo ( 1993-2000 ), or as the star of a sitcom. In 1996 he got his own sitcom The Steve Harvey Show at young WB network, which he chaired until 2002. As one of four comedians, he was seen in 2002 in the film The Original Kings of Comedy by Spike Lee. In the same year he began the daily talk radio show The Steve Harvey Morning Show, which was originally to be received only in Los Angeles and Dallas, but is now broadcast daily from other stations. In 2007, Harvey won the " Radio & Records magazine 's nationally Syndicated Personality / Show of the Year award". Since 2010, he hosted the game show Family Feud.
