Steve Marcus

Steve Marcus, actually Stephen David Marcus, ( born September 18, 1939 in New York; † September 25, 2005 in New Hope, Pennsylvania) was an American saxophonist. Marcus was an internationally- known jazz musician and played with Stan Kenton, Herbie Mann and Buddy Rich.

Marcus studied from 1959 to 1961 in Boston at the Berklee College Of Music. Since 1963 he played in an orchestra of Stan Kenton, in the years 1967 to 1970 as a member of Herbie Mann Group. 1971 to 1973, he worked with Larry Coryell, since 1975 with Buddy Rich.
