Steve McCrory

Steve McCrory ( born April 13, 1964 in Detroit, † August 1, 2000 ibid ) an American boxer of the 1984 Olympic champion in the flyweight had been. He is the brother of former WBC welterweight champion, Milton McCrory.

Amateur

McCrory won at the 1983 Pan American Games in Caracas the bronze medal. A year later, he took part in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and was part of Olympic champion. He defeated in the final controversial Redzep Redzepovski from Yugoslavia, who had Jeff Fenech defeated in the quarterfinals.

Professional

Immediately after he was Emanuel Steward professional. With eleven wins and a draw, he called on July 18, 1986 Jeff Fenech for the IBF bantamweight belt out, but had no chance and lost the one-sided fight by TKO in the fourteenth round. It was his only major title fight in a disappointing professional career, which lasted until 1991.
