Steve Starkey

Steve Starkey is an American film producer.

Life

Starkey began his career at Lucasfilm as an assistant editor on The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Later he worked for Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment as a production manager of the television series Amazing Stories. Since the production of Who Framed Roger Rabbit 1986, he worked for many years with Robert Zemeckis, 1998 he founded together with Zemeckis and Jack Rapke the film production company Image Movers, which was bought in 2006 by Disney. Among the common productions of Starkey and Zemeckis include Forrest Gump, Contact, Cast Away - Lost and The Polar Express.

2004 Starkey won the Oscar, as Forrest Gump won Best Picture.
