Steve Washburn

Steve Washburn ( born April 10, 1975 in Ottawa, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who is three in the German Ice Hockey League was six seasons in the National Hockey League and active.

Career

Steve Washburn began his career at the Gloucester Rangers in the Canadien Junior Hockey League. In 1991 he joined the Ontario Hockey League for the Ottawa 67 's. In the NHL Entry Draft in 1993, the Canadian was selected by the Florida Panthers in the third round to 78th place. After four years in the OHL Washburn had scored 266 points in 253 games.

Shortly before the playoffs in 1995, he then gave his professional debut for the Cincinnati Cyclones of the International Hockey League. From the autumn of 1995, then Washburn belonged to the organization of the Florida Panthers. He played three years both for different farm team in the American Hockey League as well as for the Panthers in the National Hockey League. In February 1999, his team then set him on the waiver list, by the defaulting him the Vancouver Canucks. The rest of the season played Washburn then for the Canucks in the NHL and the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL. In August 1999, the links Sagittarius then signed as a free agent contract with the Nashville Predators, but sent him to the Milwaukee Admirals. Towards the end of Washburn was then transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers. He played until the end of his contract with the Flyers and the Philadelphia Phantoms. In the summer of 2000, he then joined the Kloten Flyers of Switzerland. After only eight games, but he returned back to Philadelphia.

For the season 2001 /02, the Canadian then changed to the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Hockey League. After two seasons in the Sauerland he joined the league rivals Hamburg Freezers. Here Washburn remained only a year and then went for the EC KAC in Austria on the ice. After he started the season 2005/ 06 in Denmark, Washburn joined the EC Graz 99ers back in the Austrian Hockey League. After two years he joined the end of the season 2007/ 08 the Bietigheim Steelers. Subsequently signed Washburn no contract more and ended his career.
