Steve Windom

Ralph Stephen "Steve" Windom ( born November 6, 1949 in Florence, South Carolina) is an American politician.

Windom studied at the University of Alabama. From 1974 he practiced law in Mobile. 1989 Windom was elected in a by-election to the Senate of Alabama. In the elections of 1990 and 1994, he was able to defend his mandate each successfully. On 3 November 1998 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Alabama and held that post from 1999 to 2003. Windom was the first Republican lieutenant governor of Alabama since Alexander McKinstry, who held the post from 1872 to 1874, and the third Republican vice governor at all. In 2003 he founded after his retirement from politics Steve Windom, LLC.

Windom is married and has two sons.
