Steven Cousins

Steven Cousins ​​( born May 24, 1972 in Chester, England) is a former British figure skater, who started in a single run.

Cousins ​​in 1990 recently with 17 years of British figure skating champion in history. It was the first of eight national titles he won in his career. His coach was Doug Leigh. Steven Cousins ​​is not related to Robin Cousins ​​.

In the period from 1990 to 1998 Cousins ​​participated in all World and European Championships. His best result at European Championships was fourth place in 1996, his best result at the World Championships, seventh place in 1998. He denied three Olympic Games. In 1992 in Albertville, he finished 12th place in 1994 in Lillehammer, he finished ninth in 1998 in Nagano, he reached sixth place with his best result. At the Olympic Games in 1994 Cousins ​​showed a triple axel as the first Briton.

After the end of his amateur career, he turned pro and ran with Stars on Ice. In June 2003, Cousins ​​married the Canadian ice skater Kristina Leko. They were divorced in the summer of 2006. Then he married the Russian figure skater Yelena Bereschnaja. With it, he has a son and a daughter.
