Steven Levy

Steven Levy ( born 1951 ) is a technology editor, columnist and senior editor at Newsweek magazine. He has received among others the price Computer Press Association Award for his publications on the year 2000 problem in 1998. Levy published in 1984 the book Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution, in which a consistent hacker ethics was formulated for the first time. Similar to Hackers also based his book Crypto 2001, numerous interviews. Here he describes the history of cryptography in the age of computers.
