Steven López

Steven Lopez ( born November 9, 1978 in New York City, New York) is an American taekwondo athlete who was able to win in 2000 and 2004 a gold medal at the Olympic Games. After Lopez also won in October 2009 to his two Olympic titles fifth world title in order, he is still the most successful competitor in the history of the modern Olympic Taekwondo sport.

Personal

Julio and Ondina Lopez emigrated in 1973 from Nicaragua to the United States. Five years later, her son Steven Lopez was born. He graduated in 1997 from Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas. His siblings Mark, Diana and Jean Lopez ( coach ) are also all members of the U.S. national team in taekwondo. In April 2005, Steven won and his two siblings Diana and Mark all a world title in Spain under the leadership of their elder brother Jean as a coach.
