Steven Lukes

Steven Michael Lukes ( born 1941 ) is a British sociologist and social philosopher.

After academic training at the University of Oxford ( PhD on Emile Durkheim ) was Lukes Professor at the European University Institute, at the University of Siena, Florence University and the London School of Economics. Eventually he became a professor at New York University. In 1974 he published with power. A Radical View his most famous scientific work. Published in 2005 an expanded version of the book.

In addition to his professional scientific publication Luke also wrote the utopian political novel " The Curious Enlightenment of Professor Caritat ".
