Steven Mead

Steven Mead (born 1962 in Bournemouth ) is a British euphonium player.

He lives with his wife and two children in central England. In 1982 he completed his studies at the University of Bristol. He also visited the major conservatories in Tokyo, Moscow, Brussels, Valencia and Oslo.

He began his career with two television appearances. Since then he has had several successes, such as each twice the victory of the "BBC Best of Brass " contest in 1983 and 1985 and the " Euphonium Player of the Year Award" in 1983 and 1986. He founded in 1991 the British Tuba Quartet with two tubes and two euphoniums.
