Steven Old

Steven Old ( born February 17, 1986 in Palmerston North ) is a New Zealand soccer player. The defender has already played two clubs in the A-League and was last at FC Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League under contract.

Career

Old visited two years, the St. John's University in New York and played for the local varsity team. 2005/ 06 he played in the New Zealand Football Championship for Young Heart Manawatu before he was taken from the Australian A- League club Newcastle United Jets as a substitute for Craig Deans under contract. The following season was at Old cadres of the Wellington Phoenix, for which he came to twelve inserts. At the end of the season he was released by Phoenix from his contract to come to regular operations and prepare under competition conditions for the Olympic Games in Beijing. In January 2009, he completed a trial with Scottish first division club FC Kilmarnock and signed a contract until the end of March the summer of 2012.

Old since 2004 has been playing in the national team of his country. He went through the U -17 and U-20 selections of New Zealand and was in 2008 in the squad of the New Zealand Olympic team (U - 23) for the Olympic football tournament in China. He was then sent in the 1-1 opening match against hosts China after 39 minutes of the field, the draw was the only point gain in New Zealand during the tournament. 2009 belonged Old to New Zealand squad at the Confederations Cup in South Africa, remained at Vorrundenaus but without use.

2003 and 2005 Old was voted New Zealand's International Young Player.
