Steven Palazzo

Steven Palazzo McCarthy ( born February 21, 1970 in Gulfport, Mississippi) is an American politician. Since 2011 he represents the state of Mississippi in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Steven Palazzo attended Saint John High School in Gulfport and then studied until 1996 at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. Between 1988 and 1996 he was a member of the Reserve of the United States Marine Corps. He was used in the Second Gulf War. Since 2007 he is a member of the National Guard of his state. Otherwise, he worked as a chartered accountant. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. Between 2007 and 2010 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Mississippi. There he was a member of several committees, including the Banking Committee and the Working Committee.

In the congressional elections of 2010, the Palazzo was in the fourth electoral district of Mississippi in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of him previously defeated Democrat Gene Taylor on January 3, 2011. He is a member of the Armed Services Committee and the Committee on Science, Space and Technology and in five sub-committees.

In the congressional elections in 2012 Palazzo sat down with 64:29 percent of the vote against the Democrats by Matthew Moore.
