Steven Whittaker

Steven Gordon Whittaker ( born June 16, 1984, Edinburgh) is a Scottish football player. He began his professional career in his hometown at Hibernian Edinburgh. From there he went to the Rangers, with whom he has three times Scottish champion.
Career
In the club
Hibernian Edinburgh (2001-2007)
Whittaker switched from Hutchison Vale in the youth section of Hibernian. The debut for the club from his hometown he gave on 12 May 2002 in a 1-0 win against FC St. Johnstone. In the season 2002/ 03 he came to further operations and managed in the season it made it into the starting XI. During the season, he finally succeeded in his first goal against Partick Thistle in the league and he reached Edinburgh, the League Cup final. With the defeat against FC Livingston, however, he did not play. As a result, he was with Hibernian in the 2004/05 season third in the SPL. He celebrated his only success in his last season for Edinburgh, as he won the League Cup against FC Kilmarnock with the team.
Glasgow Rangers (2007-2012)
He left the Easter Road in 2007 and joined for £ 2,000,000 Rangers. In Ibrox he met directly in his debut against FC Falkirk. In the further course of the season he was able to achieve with the Rangers the final of the UEFA Cup, in which he was in the starting and was in the 86th minute replaced by Kris Boyd. However, the final was lost 2-0 against Zenit St Petersburg. Still, he could win ten days later with the Rangers the Scottish FA Cup against Queen of the South. He then dominated the Rangers the league and won the Double in 2009, and subsequently two more times the championship.
Norwich City (since 2012)
As a result of the insolvency of Glasgow Rangers Whittaker moved in summer 2012 to Norwich City.
In the National Team
His debut in the Scottish U -21 national team, he was under coach Rainer Bonhof in a friendly match against Spain. He then came to 14 additional inserts and against Belarus scored his only goal, before he was for the first time in 2006 in a European Championship qualifier against Ukraine in the squad of the national team. It was not until three years later - after he had also a game for B- national dispute - he made his debut in the match against Norway. This was followed by 13 more inserts, where he was last used in 2011 against Cyprus.
