Stevns Peninsula

Geographical location

Stevns is a peninsula in the east of the main Danish island of Zealand to the south of Køge Bugt. It is separated from Zealand by the three river Stevns Å, Tryggevælde and Kildea. Over most of the population has Strøby Egede, but central location is Store Heddinge. Administratively belongs to the largest part of the peninsula to Stevns municipality in Region Zealand.

Numerous Iron Age cemeteries ( Himlingeøje ) show the importance of the peninsula in the first centuries AD
