Sthenelus (son of Andromeda and Perseus)

Sthenelus (Greek Σθένελος ), the son of Perseus and Andromeda, was in Greek mythology, king of Tiryns. According to the Libraries of Apollodorus (2, 5, 9) was Sthenelus, as well as his brother Alcaeus, son of Androgeos, son of Minos.

After the death of his father, his brother Electryon received the areas of Midea and Mycenae, his other brother Alcaeus received Tiryns. Alcaeus ' Amphitryon son succeeded his father in Tiryns and received from Electryon the rest of the country. But when he accidentally killed Electryon, his uncle Sthenelus took this as an opportunity to banish him to the throne itself.

Sthenelus Nikippe married the daughter of Pelops, or Artibia (or Antibia ), daughter of Amphidamas, or Amphibia, daughter of Pelops, or Menippe or Kalliphobe (?) And begat Alcyone, Medusa and Eurystheus, also the Argonaut Iphis (or Iphitus ). According to Hyginus Mythographus he was killed in old age by Hyllus, son of Heracles.
