Stian Eckhoff

Stian Eckhoff ( born September 3, 1979 in Trondheim ) is a former Norwegian biathlete.

With 10 years Eckhoff began the biathlon and was recorded with 17 years in the junior national team of Norway. From 2000, he started in the World Cup. His first World Cup victory in 2004, he celebrated in Östersund (Sweden) in the sprint. The 2004/2005 season, he finished as the 10th of the overall World Cup and was second best behind Ole Einar Bjørndalen Norwegians. Eckhoff biggest success was winning the relay world championship title in 2005 in Hochfilzen ( Austria ). In the summer of 2009, he announced his retirement from active competition.

Eckhoff is engaged with the Norwegian biathlete Anne Ingstadbjørg and lives with her in Trondheim. His sisters Kaja and Tiril are also biathletes.
