The German Stichelhaar is recognized by the FCI German breed of dog (No. 232, Gr. 7, sec 1.1).

Short Description

The German Stichelhaar is large up to 70 cm.

It has to hard bristly hair, which is about 4 cm long. There are three different color variations: brown, with or without a white spot on the chest, brown roan with or without brown patches and light roan with or without brown patches. The ears are of medium size, hanging, high.

Nature

The German Stichelhaar is a calm, balanced, and a robust and courageous, yet more controlled dog that is neither aggressive nor shy.

Use

The German Stichelhaar is a biddable, versatile hunting dog.
