Stine Andresen

Stine Andresen born Jürgens ( born December 23, 1849 in Boldixum, † May 13, 1927 ibid ) was a German writer of the island of Foehr. Her poetry is often related to their island home. In addition to poetry in German language, she also wrote some in North Frisian.

Life

Andresen was the daughter of the farmer Jürgen Erich Jurgens in Boldixum, today a district of Wyk and spent most of her life. The mother died early. Andresen attended the village school in Boldixum and continued his education through reading. Time she wrote occasional poems that they recited at festivals. Andresen was a personal friend of Friedrich Hebbel's family. After the death Hebbel in 1863 she worked for a time as secretary to his widow Christine Hebbel.

In 1875, Andresen married the miller Emil Andresen, who died in the 1890s. In 1893 published Poems by Andresen in pressure. As worsened their financial situation after the death of her husband, she supported the author Karl Schrattenthal by a new edition of her poems in 1896.

Aftereffect

Two poems were set to music by composer Andresens Heinrich Ferdinand Thieriot to choral works. In Wyk of Stine Andresen pathway was named after the poet.
