Stjepan Tomas

Stjepan Tomas ( born March 6, 1976 in Bugojno, SFR Yugoslavia, now Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a former Croatian football player.

Association

Career in Croatia

Tomas ' career began in his native town of Bugojno, where he played for NK Iskra Bugojno. In the 1994/95 season he was involved in NK Istra Pula. After his first year at Istra Pula, he moved to Dinamo Zagreb, where Stjepan Tomas played for five years. With Dinamo he won five championships and three cup victories celebrated.

Adventures in Italy

For the season 2000/ 01 moved to Tomas Series A climber Vicenza Calcio. The Italians paid to Dinamo Zagreb converted three million euro transfer fee for the learned central defender. In the first year, the club got off to Serie B. After a year in the second highest Italian league, he moved to season 2002 /03 Premiership Up Como Calcio and rose again after one year from Serie A in the second division.

Career in Turkey

In July 2003, Tomas moved for a million euros to the Turkish club Fenerbahce, with whom he became Turkish champion. The following season he went free transfer to Galatasaray, one of the city rivals Fenerbahçe. When he came to Galatasaray 95 operations, including 50 in the Turkish Süper Lig In February 2010 Tomas moved from Russia back to Turkey to Gaziantepspor and a year later to the Süper Lig Up Bucaspor.

Career in Russia

In August 2007, Tomas joined Galatasaray for 700,000 euros to the Russian club Rubin Kazan, where already his former teammate Hasan had signed Kabze. With Rubin Kazan he was in 2008 and 2009 Russian master.

National

For the Croatian national team Stjepan Tomas played 49 games and scored one goal. With Croatia he took part in the Football World Cup 2002 in Japan and South Korea as well as the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Achievements

Stjepan Tomas was in his five years at Dinamo Zagreb Croatian football champion five times (1996 to 2000) and won three times the Croatian Cup (1996 to 1998). With Fenerbahce he won the 2005 Turkish Cup. In 2006 he also won the Turkish Super Lig Galatasaray Istanbul. In his three years at the Russian club Rubin Kazan he won the 2008 and 2009 Premjer League.
