Stockholmspolisens IF

Stockholmspolisens IF ( SPIF also: Polisens IF) is a Swedish sports club from Stockholm. In the club handball, judo, swimming and rowing is offered.

The club was founded on August 9, 1912 after the Olympic Summer Games in 1912 by police officers. At the beginning it was a club for the Stockholm police officers and their families, in the 1940s, the club opened for other members.

Since the 1940s, Handball is operated in the club. Both the men's and the women's team playing in the highest Swedish league. The women's team was twelve times Swedish champion (1974-1977, 1979-1985 and 1990); they played in the 2005/06 season in the Elitserien.
