Stone Gossard

Stone Gossard ( born July 20, 1966 in Seattle, Washington) is a guitarist, songwriter and founding member of the American rock band Pearl Jam.

Stone began his musical career with a band called March of Crimes and later played along with Jeff Ament, Steve Turner and Mark Arm in the band Green River. After the split of the band he co-founded with Jeff Mother Love Bone, while Arm and Turner flying off to form Mudhoney. Other members of Mother Love Bone were Greg Gilmore (drums), Bruce Fairweather (guitar) and Andy Wood ( vocals). Two weeks before the album's release Apple on 16 March 1990 Andy was found in a comatose state by his girlfriend in their apartment. After three days, the family decided together with friends and the band off the life support device.

In memory of Wood initiated Chris Cornell from the band Soundgarden In 1990, a tribute album in which both Stone and Jeff co. The album was released under the name Temple of the Dog and has cult status today.

In parallel, Stone ( more time under the name Mookie Blaylock ) founded with Jeff Pearl Jam. The lineup was completed by Mike McCready (guitar), Eddie Vedder (vocals, guitar) and Dave Krusen (drums). In the wake of the grunge hype in the 1990s, Pearl Jam became virtually overnight worldwide fame. The band still exists today and has released nine studio albums.

In 1992, Stone played in the movie Singles - Lonely together by Cameron Crowe himself as guitarist of the band Citizen Dick.

Stone Gossard in 2001 published his first solo album under the name Bayleaf still he plays in the band Brad.
