Stone Sour is the debut album by the rock band of the same name.

Genesis

After the band was founded in 1992, some demos were recorded. The project was shut down in 1997, however, with the entry of singer Corey Taylor in Slipknot again. Josh Rand and boarded also at Slipknot James Root had worked out at the beginning of the new millennium material and thereby revived the band again. Together they wrote 14 songs and recorded some demo tapes again. Soon after, they signed a record deal with Roadrunner Records and recorded the album. Before the album but released on the band appeared under different names until they agreed on the name "Stone Sour".

The first single Get Inside was disengaged. The song was nominated in 2003 for a Grammy Award in the category Best Metal performance. However, the award went to grain for Here to Stay. The second single was on 3 March 2003 Bother, which was written as a single piece of Taylor alone. The third and final single was Inhale. The song was coupled on 7 July 2003. In 2004, the play was also nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Metal performance. This time the song Metallica's St. Anger was defeated. In 2003, the album in the U.S. received a gold record. Four years later it got silver in the UK.

Reception

Michael Edele of Laut.de spoke of a successful debut. Even if some songs do not spray innovation, he said that the album had to offer some good songs. He missed three out of five stars. In Rock Hard but Marcus Schleutermann commented that the album permanently to a " monotonous affair " is and only occasionally makes itself heard. The rating was 6.5 out of 10.
