Storfjorden ( Sami Omasvuona ) is a municipality in northern Norway in the province (county ) Troms border triangle ( Treriksrøysa ) with Sweden and Finland.
It includes the area around the innermost part of the Lyngen Fjord and the mountainous hinterland. The population is initially composed of Norwegians, seeds and Kven (descendants of Finnish immigrants of the 18th century ). In the valley signal Dalen a coastal towns dialect is spoken; the inhabitants are descendants of settlers who opened up the area in the early 19th century.
