Stormfront is the eleventh studio album by American musician Billy Joel.
Publication
Compared to its predecessor, " The Bridge " the album was much more successful. After its release in October 1989 reached "Storm Front" first place in the U.S. album charts. With the song " We Did not Start the Fire ", where the musicians worked up important events in American history from 1949 to 1989, the record also contains one of Joel's three No. 1 hits. The second single " I Go to Extremes " made the leap to number six on the Billboard charts and is also an exploration of the artist with the ups and downs of his life. Further singles released were " And So It Goes" (# 37), " That's Not Her Style" (# 77) and "The Downeaster ' Alexa ' " (# 57).
Cover versions
The country musician Garth Brooks took " Shameless " for his album " Ropin ' the Wind" scratch. The cover version was released as a single and reached the top of the U.S. country charts, as well as placing in the UK singles chart. In addition, the Canadian singer Paul Anka " I Go to Extremes " coverte on his published in 2007 album " Classic Songs. My Way ".
